The Ark Rests — A New Beginning

After the flood had done what it was sent to do, Allah commanded the water itself to stop.
وَقِيلَ يَٰٓأَرْضُ ٱبْلَعِى مَآءَكِ وَيَٰسَمَآءُ أَقْلِعِى وَغِيضَ ٱلْمَآءُ وَقُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ وَٱسْتَوَتْ عَلَى ٱلْجُودِىِّ ۖ وَقِيلَ بُعْدًۭا لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
"And it was said, 'O earth, swallow your water, and O sky, withhold [your rain].' And the water subsided, and the matter was accomplished, and it [i.e., the ship] came to rest on the [mountain of] Jūdiyy. And it was said, 'Away with the wrongdoing people.'"
— Surah Hud 11:44
The earth swallowed the water, the sky stopped pouring rain, and the ship finally came to rest on a mountain called Judiyy. The long trial was over, and Allah made clear that the wrongdoers who had rejected Nuh (AS) were gone.
After everything that had happened, Nuh (AS) still carried the pain of losing his son in the flood. He turned to Allah, reminding Him gently that his son was part of his family, and that Allah's promises are always true.
وَنَادَىٰ نُوحٌۭ رَّبَّهُۥ فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ ٱبْنِى مِنْ أَهْلِى وَإِنَّ وَعْدَكَ ٱلْحَقُّ وَأَنتَ أَحْكَمُ ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ
"And Noah called to his Lord and said, 'My Lord, indeed my son is of my family; and indeed, Your promise is true; and You are the most just of judges!'"
— Surah Hud 11:45
Allah's response was firm but loving. He explained to Nuh (AS) that his son had not truly been "of his family" in the way that mattered most, because of his choice to disbelieve. Allah reminded Nuh (AS) not to ask about things he didn't have full knowledge of.
قَالَ يَٰنُوحُ إِنَّهُۥ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صَٰلِحٍۢ ۖ فَلَا تَسْـَٔلْنِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ ۖ إِنِّىٓ أَعِظُكَ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ
"He said, 'O Noah, indeed he is not of your family; indeed, he is [one whose] work was other than righteous, so ask Me not for that about which you have no knowledge. Indeed, I advise you, lest you be among the ignorant.'"
— Surah Hud 11:46
Nuh (AS) immediately understood. He did not argue or defend himself. Instead, he turned back to Allah straight away, asking for forgiveness for asking something beyond his knowledge.
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَسْـَٔلَكَ مَا لَيْسَ لِى بِهِۦ عِلْمٌۭ ۖ وَإِلَّا تَغْفِرْ لِى وَتَرْحَمْنِىٓ أَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ
"[Noah] said, 'My Lord, I seek refuge in You from asking that of which I have no knowledge. And unless You forgive me and have mercy upon me, I will be among the losers.'"
— Surah Hud 11:47
This moment teaches us something every believer needs: even a great prophet like Nuh (AS), after 950 years of patience and a lifetime of devotion, still humbly corrected himself the instant Allah pointed it out. True faith means accepting Allah's wisdom, even when it's painful, and turning back to Him quickly when we make a mistake.
